I notice that Naxx is being retired completely in it’s current form, it’s not a dungeon I’ve seen but it does look like it’s the first major 40 man instance to vanish.
I was thinking, since we are soon looking at being able to field more than 5 level 70s at a time, it might be good to go and hit some of the older content since I don’t think any of us (except possibly Ant?) have seen it.
If attunement isn’t an issue any more, then I’d be up for a whirl round Naxx or similar before it goes and we could use it for practice. We could even pug a few more folk at the time if handling a 40 man is beyond us (there’s not much “if” there is there)?
I do also realise that this may perhaps, on balance, given proper consideration, sound silly given we can’t seem to get 5 people in one place to do SL at the minute, but it has the advantage of getting all the level 60-69 folk out and we can use it for practice.
Feel free to scoff below…
And yes I am typing this at 3.30 in the morning and yes I do appear to have insomnia.

Naxx attunement is quite long (need Argent Dawn Rep before you can enter)unless they have dropped it which I dont think they have.
Molten core attunement is pretty straight forward, you could solo it but would be faster with 2.
Black Wing Lair requires the key to Upper Black Rock Spire which may be a bit of a pain in the ass to get!
I’ve said before I am game to hit old instances…especially BWL, Nax and Onyxia….
As for SL…loooks like we have 6 people signed up in the calendar (I was last!!
)… so monday seems to be a good night!

I thought they had dropped it, but it seems not. You can buy your way in by the look of things but it looks like it still needs about 20-30 level 70s, so that rather rules us out still.
If it’s the in-game calendar, I’ve not installed it yet – so I’m not registered for Monday. I don’t need to actually do anything other than get the key shard at the end, so maybe we can work out some sort of co-ordinated group rotation to pick up the end quest if that’d work.

I actually added you into the groupCal entry for Monday Steve. I don’t honestly mind who tanks, so long as someone does, so you and Jono can do rock-paper-scissors or something.
There’s plenty of opportunities for all anyway, since we’re farming the place until the Sonic Spear ( http://www.wowhead.com/?item=27903 ) drops.

To make an on topic comment; Naxx doesn’t worry me as such. It’s being retired as a 40-man, but as that WoWInsider article says, it’s coming back as 10/25-man, the 10 man form we have a reasonable chance of having a go at — just as Kara doesn’t seem beyond the realm of possibility now.
As for other other old content, hell yeah. I remember back when I played my first toon on the US servers and the hot new shit was Maraudon and Dire Maul. My guild would *raid* Strat and Scholo and when I *finally* got a character to 60 and saw the inside of them, I got a real kick out of them. I’d love to do a “guild stroll” (as opposed to a guild run) through as much of the old content as possible.
That might actually be a decent thing to do if a few of us are on, but not enough to do a proper run at something level appropriate.

I’m up for that too. I thought Strat looked great, very eerie what I saw of it and the rest of the old stuff would be nice to visit if possible.
